A team of health workers from the Ocopilla post went to the Milagritos del Saber educational institution last Friday to carry out screening for the foot, hand and mouth virus at the aforementioned school, after a suspicious case was reported in a 4-year-old girl. The curious thing is that the doctors who checked the minors did not have protective gloves, which exposed them to contagion of the viral disease, whose outbreak occurs in educational institutions in Junín.

WORRY. The dean of the College of Nurses in Junín, Ángel Sánchez Ccance, stated that at the time of the pandemic, the provision of personal protective equipment was inevitable, after the covid passed they no longer provide personal protective equipment.

“At the time of the pandemic they gave us gloves, aprons, caps and when it was over. Today, they forgot. In the health centers they no longer give personal protective equipment that they previously provided monthly. Even so, the nursing staff has to do their job when we go to these tasks,” commented the dean.

The president of the Medical Federation in Junín, Walter Matos Arce, stated that for the work to rule out diseases, the protocols must be followed that indicate that health personnel must be properly protected, especially against diseases such as the foot, hand and mouth virus.

In this regard, he asked the officials of the Health sector to assume responsibilities, from the head of the health center, the person in charge of the microgrid and the director of the Mantaro Valley Network.

The Junín Regional Health Directorate reported that there are 79 confirmed cases of the virus in the Junín region. While Ugel Huancayo, released a list of 11 educational institutions in Huancayo, where the Coxsackie virus and chickenpox were reported. Before which, the director Walter Oré, pointed out that measures are assumed according to the protocol and if there are more than 3 in a room, everyone goes to quarantine for 7 to 10 days, to control the symptoms of the disease, whose outbreak is registered in various provinces of Junín.

In Ocopilla, the lack of water is permanent, this also affects educational institutions now that we are experiencing the Coxsackie outbreak.
