Gaula of the National Police rescued the mayor of Chimichagua after an express kidnapping in Soacha; They captured six people involved.

The mayor of Chimichagua (Cesar), José David Rocha Quinterowas rescued in the last hours from an express kidnapping in the municipality of Soacha (Cundinamarca). The release was confirmed by the governor of Cundinamarca, Jorge Emilio Reywho highlighted the speed of the operation.
Rocha Quintero was found in a parking lot by agents of the Unified Action Group for Personal Freedom (Gaula) in Soacha.
The Kidnapping and the Demand for $100 Million
The Caesarense leader had been kidnapped on the morning of November 20 of this year. The victim had initially traveled to Bogotá to purchase machinery, and later moved to Soacha, where he was summoned to complete the negotiation.

There it was boarded and kidnapped by several subjects who, supposedly, posed as members of the criminal gang ‘Aragua Train’. The kidnappers kept the mayor in captivity for several hours in the La Unión neighborhood of that municipality, demanding that his family 100 million pesos for his release.
Successful Gaula Operation
An operation carried out by the Gaula of the National Policeunder the direction of the commander of the Soacha Metropolitan Police, colonel Juan Andrés Gómez Ramírezmanaged to enter the place of captivity and rescue the mayor.
Governor Jorge Emilio Rey highlighted the effectiveness of the authorities: “I want to highlight and thank the bravery, professionalism and efficiency of the Gaula Mesóaas well as the commander of the Soacha Metropolitan Police, Colonel Juan Andrés Gómez Ramírez, for the speed in the rescue operation and for demonstrating his commitment to the safety and lives of citizens.”

In the rescue operation they were six people capturedamong them four foreigners and a Colombian citizen, in addition to the arrest of a minor involved in the incident.
During the procedure, the authorities also seized a revolver-type firearm, five 38 caliber cartridges, five cell phones and 18 5.56 caliber rifle cartridges.
