Registration is open for 9,590 temporary job vacancies at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The vacancies are for work in household, economic and geoscientific research. According to IBGE, this is the institute’s largest selection process for the regular collection network. Remuneration starts at R$2,676.24.
Registration must be made on the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) website by December 11, 2025. Selection will be made using an objective multiple-choice test, which will be administered on February 22, 2026. The tests will be administered in person in all municipalities where vacancies are available.
The application will be in two shifts, allowing candidates to participate in the tests for the two roles available in the competition: Research and Mapping Agent (APM) and Collection and Quality Supervisor (SCQ). In the morning, the test will be administered for the APM role and, in the afternoon, for the SCQ role.
According to the president of IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, the selection meets “an old demand that had not been met”. He emphasizes that the new employees “will be available to carry out the IBGE work plan and all collections that are carried out nationally”.
