The United States Federal Aviation Administration issued an advisory on Friday urging commercial flights to “exercise caution” when flying over Venezuela and the southern Caribbean, which constitutes another message in its strategy to instill fear in the region in its attack against Venezuela.
In the midst of Washington’s military deployment in the Caribbean, the warning refers to “a potentially dangerous situation in the region.”
According to the communication, cited by international media, the alert focuses on the Maiquetía Flight Information Region. “Operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when operating in the Maiquetía flight information region at all altitudes due to the deteriorating security situation and increased military activity in or around Venezuela,” the text states.
In addition, the entity stated that the threats could represent “a potential risk to aircraft at all altitudes, including during the overflight, arrival and departure phases of the flight.” He added that the risk could also affect airports and aircraft on the ground in the aforementioned region.
This notice is given after the arrival in the Caribbean of the USS Gerald Fordthe largest US aircraft carrier, to expand the military deployment that the Pentagon has maintained in the region since last August.
Washington has justified its action with the pretext of the fight against drug trafficking, attacking small boats and leaving more than 80 people murdered, without proving their alleged links with criminal organizations.
For their part, the Venezuelan authorities have denounced the threat of this military deployment in the region to several international institutions, ensuring that this aggression has as its main objective a change of Government and appropriating the nation’s wealth.
