The mayor of Medellín stated that increased corrective measures for throwing garbage and debris in public spaces by 41%going from 218 sanctions in 2024 to 308 offenders this year.
The increase in sanctioned people is due to the surveillance strategieswhich include constant patrolling, the use of video surveillance and the support of the Integrated Emergency and Security System (SIES).
