The Sectoral Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, stated that more than 170,000 troops of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) are deployed throughout the national territory, including the support of citizen security bodies and the Bolivarian Militia.
When taking a tour of the Estrella del Sur Government Room, in the Santa Rosalía parish, Padrino López said that “we have decided to leave without weapons, since more than a Republic Plan, from a technical point of view, which is to provide security to the structures and protection of electoral material, it is to leave together with the people.”
“We want to come and celebrate this democratic festival with the people, from the mission bases and these halls of communal self-government.”
He added that “the commander in chief and president Nicolás Maduro has instructed that the barracks go to the communities again this weekend.”
He reiterated that there are 8,630 centers will be enabled throughout the country, while indicating that the Republic Plan will reach the most remote and remote areas.
He described the fourth popular consultation, scheduled for this Sunday, November 23, as a great democratic and popular festival.
During the activity, Padrino López stressed that the Popular Consultation is a clear demonstration of the democratic and inclusive character of the Venezuelan people. Furthermore, he pointed out that despite the difficulties derived from the economic and psychological war and external threats, the country has not stopped its efforts to build a participatory, leading and direct democracy, in which the established power obeys the decisions and wishes of the people.
Likewise, he highlighted that the consultation will allow resources to reach the communities directly, under the premise of the Seven Transformations Plan, to guarantee that the people are protagonists in the definition of projects and priorities.
In the IV Republic the political elite used the Fanb as an occupation army
Minister Vladimir Padrino López mentioned that in the past Venezuela’s political elite used the Armed Forces as an “occupation army” to contain the demands of the people and protect the privileges of the oligarchy; Therefore, he expressed that today such forces are made up of men and women of the people.
Next, Padrino López highlighted that in the face of the Monroe doctrine of the United States, the people of Venezuela have their Bolivarian doctrine, “to confront one of the most genocidal empires in the world,” he emphasized.
“North American imperialism wanted to threaten us, even more, with bomber planes, missile ships in the Caribbean, and we who did, responded with national unity, more work, more patriotism, more resistance, more organization, more democracy and more commitment,” he noted.
