Junín: Three transportation inspectors operating in Concepción are attacked and “kidnapped”

Ten inspectors ended up beaten and three of them were detained for more than two hours after the intervention in a unit of the transport company Corazón de Jesús during an operation near the Las Balsas bridge (border between Huancayo and Concepción), said company operates without interprovincial authorization, according to the authorities.

The Regional Directorate of Transportation and Communications (DRTC) reported that the workers were attacked by drivers and associates of the company when they tried to intervene in the unit.

Among those attacked were also the director of Land Traffic, Michael Chipana, and the deputy director of Inspection, Edson Chacón. “The only thing we do is supervise and apply the regulations. They have a document from the court, but it is only a right of passage, not an interprovincial authorization”Chipana said.

The director of the DRTC, Michael Palacios, recalled that the company has been operating without permission for years and is relying on an old protection action that, as he explained, does not authorize them to provide the service from Huancayo to Concepción. “This same company participated in the previous strike demanding more control of informality, while now it evades supervision. The inspectors cannot be attacked. They do not have to pay for leaders who do not regularize their documentation”he stated.

The entity announced that it will criminally report those responsible and that they have videos that will allow them to be identified. According to the DRTC, Corazón de Jesús should circulate on the Quichuay highway (which now connects Huancayo with Ingenio) and not through Concepción, where it picks up passengers without authorization. The entity assured that they will continue with the operations, despite constant attacks.

The DRTC explained that when there was no direct route to Ingenio, the company passed through Concepción, but now there is the Quichuay route.
