Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) reminded the population that the use of drones without authorization in the vicinity of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Centerwhere the concert of Bad Bunny is prohibited.
In a press release, the general director of IDAC, Igor Rodríguez Durán, explained that during mass events, the drone operation without authorization can represent a significant risk for air safety and the integrity of attendees.
In that sense, he urged all people interested in its use to strictly comply with the provisions established in the Dominican Aeronautical Regulations RAD 107regulations that regulates the operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in national territory.
“Any unauthorized flight in densely populated areas or where massive activities are carried out endangers the airspace and the safety of everyone. We reiterate the importance of complying with the procedures and permits required by RAD 107,” he expressed.
The institution recalled that RAD 107 establishes obligations such as operator registration and from the drone, the prior permit application for flights in urban areas or near crowdsrespect for restricted areas and height limits, as well as the obligation to maintain visual contact with the aircraft at all times.
The IDAC reiterated its commitment to the protection of national airspace and urged citizens to comply with current regulations to guarantee safe and responsible operations.
