VIII International Circular Economy Forum brings together more than 1,000 leaders in Lima

Lima is home to the VIII International Circular Economy Forum (FIEC), the most important meeting on circular transition in the country. National and international authorities, business associations, international cooperation and experts will meet to define commitments, policies and alliances that promote a more competitive and sustainable development model.

Organized by the European Union, the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM), the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE), the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS), the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the forum will discuss advances in the circular economy in: agriculture, water and sanitation, manufacturing industry and internal trade, and tourism.

“Circularity is not an option, it is an urgent need. This forum will serve to strengthen the lines of action to consolidate Peru’s circular transition, for an efficient use of resources and to generate opportunities for innovation and employment,” said Jonathan Hatwell, ambassador of the European Union in Peru.

During the FIEC, which takes place from November 20 to 21, the ministries present the country’s progress in the circular economy. Likewise, presidents of the most important business associations at the national level will explain how the private sector has been transitioning to a circular model that improves the productivity and competitiveness of companies.

On the other hand, during the two days, the FIEC will develop a technical and experiential agenda that will include keynote conferences, international panels, business conferences and networking spaces. The main thematic blocks include: Agriculture, Water and sanitation, Manufacturing industry and internal trade and Tourism.
