In her conference, President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that if necessary she will file a criminal complaint against the person who harassed her in recent days when she was walking through the streets of the Historic Center.
He revealed that, for now, at the suggestion of the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office, he only sent a document recounting exactly what happened on that occasion.
During his conference, in response to a specific question, he said that the prosecutor’s office will integrate that document into the investigation folder it has prepared related to some complaints against this person.
In this context, Sheinbaum Pardo announced that next week the initiative will be presented so that harassment of women is considered a crime in all states, for which agreements have already been advanced with state governments and state prosecutors’ offices.
The presentation will be held within the framework of the World Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women.
