The director of UGEL Huancayo, Walter Oré Ramos, reported that in 11 educational institutions cases of the foot, hand and mouth virus and even cases of chickenpox were reported.

The schools with foot, hand and mouth viruses are IE Niño Jesús (4), Salesiano Santa Rosa Coxsackie virus (5), Niño Belén, JPV (3), Cunas Más, Saños Chico (6), Mi Pequeno Mundo, JPV (3), Keritma, Umuto (4), IE 31939, San Pedro (5) and IE Perú Birf Sicaya (chickenpox), Divino Maestro with chickenpox (3), Police School with chickenpox Pilcomayo (7). Engineering (8) foot, hand and mouth viruses and chickenpox.

PROTOCOL. “If there are cases of the foot, hand and mouth virus, the protocols established by Diresa are assumed there; if there are less than 3 students with the virus in a classroom, they no longer attend, but if there are more than 3 students, the classroom is quarantined and virtual classes are held,” said director Walter Oré.

Yesterday, a new alarm was registered about this virus. The staff from the Ocopilla health center went to the Milagritos del Saber educational institution, since a case of the disease was registered at the aforementioned school and by protocol they went to discard all the children who study there. The worrying thing is that when they opened the faucet in the laundry room, there was no drinking water coming out for washing hands.

“The discard was first carried out on a 4-year-old girl, the same one who was taken home and quarantined and does not return to the classroom. The case was detected on Thursday, she had blisters on her hands, so we took her to the post so that a doctor can diagnose. The children in her classroom, who are 8, no longer came today,” said teacher Maruja Huamán. Days before, the children had had a sharing, to celebrate the birthday of one of the minors.

Health personnel go to preschool and early primary education centers to identify cases of injuries to the feet, hands and mouth to rule out the virus. A worrying situation at the Milagritos del Saber educational institution, located in Ocopilla, is the lack of drinking water. When we opened the sink pipes, we could see that there was no drinking water.

That is why the teachers have placed a recycled bottle of mineral water, to bring water so that the children can wash their hands. They also have drums to collect, the essential liquid when it arrives early. “When there is a case, health personnel come to rule out the other minors, while the suspected child must remain in isolation for 7 to 10 days,” said the member of the Diresa Junín Epidemiology technical team. Norma Cordova.

The IREN Centro epidemiologist, Luis Tello Dávila, stated that the symptoms of this viral infection include fever, sore throat, painful sores in the mouth and a rash with blisters on the hands, feet and mouth.
