Through a statement, RDL reported that on November 19 a meeting was held between representatives of RDL and officials of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML). During the meeting, the concessionaire informed the MML that, if the judicial measures are not reversed, it is willing to carry out an “orderly and peaceful” transfer of the concession.
The concessionaire company clarified that, although it is willing to temporarily transfer the operation, it will not abandon the legal action that seeks to reverse the situation. In his statement he indicated that he maintains his defense intact in the face of the decisions made by the Peruvian justice system, which he held responsible for the current crisis. Likewise, he emphasized that this legal position will remain firm regardless of how the administrative process is resolved.

RDL He also reported that he has communicated this situation to Central Government authorities, including the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of the Interior and the Presidency of the Council of Ministersrequesting actions to guarantee the attention of the roads. MML responds to the Rutas de Lima statement: “There is no legal framework that protects such delivery”
In response, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima He pointed out that there is no legal framework that allows for a peaceful and agreed delivery of the tracks. Therefore, the contract remains in force despite the suspension of toll collection and the transfer will not be made until the contract itself makes it possible.
The MML stated that Lima Routes would be acting in “bad faith”: “They claim to have no income; however, they have profited from tolls for more than twelve years, for an amount greater than US$ 1,000 million,” they indicated. Furthermore, they stressed that the responsibility of sustaining the company falls solely on its shareholders.
In the statement, the municipality announced that, in the event of abandonment by Rutas de Lima, it will immediately assume the administration of the roads “in the interest of the public interest.” Likewise, he requested the Prosecutor’s Office of the Nation, the Comptroller General of the Republic and the Judiciary that immediate actions be initiated to guarantee compliance with judicial decisions.
