Business excellence: Caja Arequipa awards more than S/ 200 thousand to the winners of 'Entrepreneurial Pride 2025'

In a ceremony that brought together leaders from the private sector and academia, Caja Arequipa celebrated Peruvian resilience and ingenuity by awarding the 18 winners of the second edition of the national competition “MYPE Entrepreneurial Pride Award 2025.” The initiative seeks to make visible and empower businesses that not only generate employment, but transform their communities.

The event stood out for its high competition, having received more than 800 applications from 19 regions of the country, including Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Tacna, Madre de Dios, Pasco, Ucayali, Áncash, Moquegua, Puno, Junín, Loreto, Ayacucho, Huánuco and San Martín.

The winners accessed an incentive fund of more than S/ 200,000, distributed in financial support of up to S/ 25,000, full training scholarships and comprehensive assistance programs.

Resilience that inspires

During the gala, Pablo Manrique, vice president of the Board of Directors of Caja Arequipa, highlighted the value of the Peruvian businessman. “The Entrepreneurial Pride Award reflects the best of Peru: people who rise up and build, promoting their businesses and projects even when circumstances are not always favorable.”

For his part, Luis Gallegos, central business manager of the entity, emphasized that the objective of the award is “to inspire other entrepreneurs in all regions of the country to continue fighting for their dreams”, making visible real stories of success and effort.

Entrepreneurial Pride is the first national contest aimed at people who run an MYPE. The objective is to strengthen their capabilities, empower them and promote an environment of opportunities for the entrepreneur himself, his families and his social environment.

Technology for agriculture

The highest recognition of the event, the Caja Arequipa Grand Prize, was awarded to Bryan Villafuerte Alarcón, founder of Green Cycle.

His venture is an innovative platform that generates digital passports for agroecological products. Through digital traceability and satellite monitoring, Green Cycle allows small farmers to certify their processes, improving their productivity and facilitating their access to demanding international markets. Villafuerte also took Gold in the Innovative Entrepreneurship category.
