The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina, celebrated this Monday (14) the release by Canada of imports of beef and pork from Brazil. “Great news for our #agro. Canada, one of the most important markets in the world, authorized the beginning of the export of beef and pork produced in Brazil. Agora já são mais de 200 mercados abertos pelo Mapa na gestão do governo Jair Bolsonaro”, anunciou pelo Twitter.
Tereza Cristina, who has been on a mission in Canada since last weekend, said in the post that she will still have a series of meetings today to deal with the importation of fertilizers by Brazil.
As the fourth global consumer of fertilizers, responsible for about 8% of this volume and as the world’s largest importer, Brazil is seeking new fertilizer markets, as Russia, the country’s main supplier, is subject to global sanctions because of the war in Ukraine.
Brazil imports about 85% of all fertilizer used in national agricultural production. In the case of potassium, the imported percentage is around 95%.
