Deputy Luis Eduardo Martínez urges Maduro to dialogue with the US to guarantee peace

AD intervenida Luis Eduardo Martínez sobre Maduro

The National Assembly (AN) authorized a 15-year extension for the oil companies Boquerón SA and Petroperijá SA and assured that the investments, which will extend until 2041, will improve the quality of life of ordinary citizens. Maduro was asked to avoid bloodshed

Deputy Luis Eduardo Martínez (Democratic Action intervened) urged Nicolás Maduro to bet on dialogue between the United States and Venezuela to reduce tensions, after President Donald Trump deployed, in mid-August, military teams in the Caribbean to fight drug trafficking; actions that Caracas considers really seek a regime change in the country.

During the session of the National Assembly (AN) this Thursday, November 20, Martínez insisted that Venezuela is right and that “it is also time to engage fully in dialogue.”

«Mr. Nicolás Maduro, today you have the immense responsibility of guaranteeing peace. “With you we are committed to dialogue, respect, safeguarding our principles and values, our independence and freedom, and sovereignty,” the parliamentarian persisted.

Luis Eduardo Martínez also asked Maduro to avoid “shedding the blood that fits in a hummingbird. Peace, peace, peace.

He insisted that the US argument to combat drug trafficking “is a false narrative” and that the military deployment “is a violation of the Charter of the United Nations”, as well as a direct intervention in the internal affairs of Venezuela, which “intends to pave the way to justify armed aggression.”

In this sense, he explained that in previous years, the dialogue, under the leadership of the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, “has achieved the cessation of conflict and greater governability. May dialogue, external and prompt, be the tool to preserve peace and guarantee national sovereignty«he exhorted.

The statements of parliamentarian Luis Martínez arose after presenting an assessment of the Meeting of Jurists in Defense of International Law within the framework of the Council for Sovereignty and Peace, which was held in recent days in the country. He stated that congressmen from dozens of countries condemned the actions of the United States in the Caribbean.

Martínez asserted that the parliamentarians who participated in the meeting of jurists opposed the situation between the United States and Venezuela leading to a war and called for defending the world order, “based on respect and peaceful coexistence, not on the law of the strongest.”

Maduro said he was willing to talk “face to face” with Trump, after the US president said: “It is possible that we will have some conversations with Maduro, we will see how they turn out.”

However, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, He denied that the ruling party is holding negotiations with the United States to seek political change in the country. He stated that “nothing can put the Maduro government at risk.”

To date, the US has annihilated more than 22 “drug boats” in the Caribbean and the Pacific. These operations have left more than 80 dead.

Extension for oil companies Boquerón and Petroperijá

The National Assembly (AN) authorized a 15-year extension for the oil companies Boquerón SA and Petroperijá SA to continue activities in the country between the period 2016-1041. The decision was approved unanimously.

The person in charge of presenting the report was the president of the Permanent Commission on Energy and Petroleum, deputy Orlando Camacho (Movimiento Somos Venezuela), who stated that the deadline for these mixed companies “will allow the development of significant volumes of hydrocarbon production.”

Camacho specified that Petroperijá’s goal is to extract 68 million net barrels of crude oil and more than 28 billion cubic feet of gas; which translates into an investment for the country of more than 292 million dollars.

Regarding the Boquerón company, he indicated that it plans to reach a production of 23 million net barrels of oil and produce more than 269 billion cubic feet of associated gas, with an investment that exceeds 324 million dollars.

For deputy Orlando Camacho, the intentions of these oil companies to remain in the country demonstrate the companies’ willingness to invest in Venezuela, generate confidence in the workers and “allows the quality of life of ordinary citizens to improve.”

“This plan is supporting the economic recovery, growth and prosperity program directed and executed by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, which drives the 13 engines of the economy and gives important value to hydrocarbons,” said Orlando Camacho.

Support for the popular consultation

In the National Assembly (AN) The draft agreement was also presented in support of the fourth popular consultation of this year in the country and the seventh general one. This was presented by parliamentarian Carlos Mogollón (PSUV) and was approved unanimously.

He indicated that next Sunday, November 23, Venezuelans will choose from more than 35 thousand projects, which will be executed in their communities. He specified that there will be 10,672 plans, which he stated will begin “to be executed next week,” to add them to the thousands that are already being worked on.

Mogollón maintained that this way of doing politics and executing projects, directly, guarantees that communities solve their problems.
