The process of qualification of the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) Las Parras has had the support of the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra, a key citizen support so that the facility can operate and provide society with the expected service, assured the head of the General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC), Roberto Santana Sánchez.
The official explained that the staff who works at the center was chosen with the community participation. “All members of the staff Those who are going to work here have been selected in the community; has been called public contest“, said.
Santana highlighted that at least seven calls to fill the available places and which will subsequently be they trained doctorspsychologists, social workers, educators and lawyers required by the center. “Here it was not used to place a brother in positions, nor the cousin of any authority, but based on a number of requirements“he pointed out.
Community participation
The head of the DGSPC highlighted that the municipal authorities of Guerra helped connect with others eight town councils: Bayaguana, Boyá, Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata, Boca Chica, La Caleta, San Luis and Hato Viejo.

- In relation to transfer of the first 300 prisoners from the La Victoria prison, Santana reported that they were received by a multidisciplinary team made up of doctors, psychologists, educators and lawyers, responsible for creating a detailed profile of each inmate.
The process will allow identify if it is a first entry or a repeat offender, as well as the type of crime committed, to design rehabilitation plans individualized and classify inmates according to their history.
