AN approves supporting the Popular Consultation of 23N

The National Assembly (AN) during the ordinary session this Thursday, approved an agreement in which it supports the National Popular Consultation scheduled to take place next Sunday, November 23, considering that it is an expression of the consolidation of Popular Power and the exercise of politics.

The agreement was presented by deputy Carlos Mogollón (PSUV/ Capital District), who pointed out that, through this consultation, citizens will be able to choose between 36,574 projects, which will begin to be executed the week after the elections, allowing the communities to directly manage the budget.

He highlighted that this consultation is the fourth in 2025, but the seventh to be carried out during the current presidential term of Nicolas Maduro, something that he considered unprecedented worldwide and that should serve as an example of execution of public budgets.

“It has been proven that any work carried out by our organized communities has at least 50% more scope than any public entity, but it has at least between 100 and 150% the scope of any private company,” he explained.

Sovereign and peaceful future

Deputy Carlos Mogollón assured that Venezuelans are going to vote next Sunday, November 23, they will do so to demonstrate their desire for peace and sovereign future.

“It is also a cry of protest, against a hegemon that threatens us, to tell him that we do not care about his ships, that we continue to bet on the construction of a country, we continue to bet on the construction of Venezuela,” he declared.

Mogollón expressed that these consultative processes represent a qualitative leap in electoral rights by facilitating access to electoral centers, compared to the fourth republic. Likewise, he positively valued the inclusion of young people between 15 and 18 years old as active members of the communes.

“While in other countries, the so-called generation Z seeks to degrade through technology or remove themselves from public management, in Venezuela they have been given a leading role.”

Finally, he explained the need for a law on popular consultations to be created in the future, so that public officials, at all levels, know that the priority in the execution of public resources is the will of Venezuelans.
