The people organized from the territory have demonstrated their ability to respond directly to local problems, in a way that strengthens communal action from the base, as stated by the Vice Minister of Social Movements, Albanys Montilla.
From an interview on Radio Nacional de Venezuela, Montilla pointed out that almost 50% of the Popular Consultation projects have been aimed at providing concrete responses to public services, evidencing the priority of Popular Power in addressing essential needs.
He highlighted the heroic effort of the Communes to recover schools, health centers and spaces for recreation and life, as part of the permanent work to dignify the communities and stressed that in Venezuela food sovereignty is built without falling into models dependent on GMOs or corporations like Monsanto, while defending its own and healthy production.
On November 23, the town will have a day in which more than 36,000 projects nominated by the inhabitants of 5,336 communes and communal circuits in the country will be put to the vote.
