Progress is not concentrated in a single sector. Mexico occupies the first position as an export destination in 24 chapters of the Harmonized System and appears as the second most relevant market in another 50, indicates the Business Coordinating Council (CCE).
The combination places the country in the top two places in three-quarters of US export industries, a level of integration that few economies achieve with their main trading partner.
Mexican demand covers cereals, electronics, steel, iron, auto parts, vehicles, machinery and energy. The breadth of the portfolio confirms that Mexico not only receives manufacturing and intermediate goods, but also supports key segments of the US productive structure.
In 2024, Mexico will be among the two largest export markets for 26 states in the United States, highlights the CCE.
At the same time, Mexico maintains its role as the main supplier to the United States from 2023which completes a cycle of interdependence that affects prices, logistics chains and employment on both sides of the border.
