Fanb destroys illegal mining equipment in Amazonas

Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) detected and destroyed equipment for the practice of illegal mining in the indigenous community of Carida, Bulla Loca sector, Amazonas state.

This was reported by the Strategic Operational Commander of the Fanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, who detailed that 10 mill drawers, a mill shaft, a mill flywheel, a mill bearing, six mill belts, two 13 HP water suction motors, three mining snails, 50 meters of 4″ high pressure hose, 50 meters of ½” hose, five carpets used as sieve and six belts for mining engines.

He highlighted that all the material and equipment were incinerated at the scene, in compliance with the preventive measures, issued by the criminal court of first instance of control of the state of Amazonas, to preserve the biological diversity, fauna, flora and minerals of the territory.

In another Fanb procedure, the Secretary of Citizen Security of the state of Falcón, Brigadier General Miguel Morales Miranda, reported that the Bolivarian National Guard seized 106 panels of marijuana hidden in a Ford Explorer truck undergoing inspection at the Maicillal checkpoint, in the Jacura municipality of this entity.

He indicated that during the search they located the cache that had a weight of 86,200 kilos of drugs.

In the case, Tony Jesús Colomo was detained and will be prosecuted for the crime of drug trafficking. In both procedures they were notified and delivered to the Public Ministry.
