The world of popular music in Colombia woke up shaken after the confirmation of the kidnapping of Miguel Angel Ayalason of the renowned singer Giovanny Ayalaalong with the artist’s manager. The incident took place on Tuesday night November 18when Miguel Ángel and the manager returned from a musical presentation. According to preliminary information, both were moving through the Pan-American Highwayone of the busiest routes in the southwest of the country, when they were surprised by a group of armed men.
The authorities confirmed the kidnapping of Miguel Ayala, son of the singer Giovanni Ayala, and his manager, in events that occurred on the Pan-American highway, in the El Túnel sector, municipality of Cajibío, Cauca.

The attack occurred specifically in the sector of The Tunnelin Cajibío (Cauca), where historically multiple incidents of insecurity associated with armed gangs and illegal structures operating in the area have been recorded. According to the station, the criminals intercepted the vehicle and forced the victims to get out and then took them to an unknown direction.

Miguel Ángel Ayala, who has also built his path in music as a singer—following in his father’s footsteps—became known to the Colombian public a few years ago when he participated in a renowned Caracol Television reality showwhere he even reached imitate Giovanny Ayalademonstrating his talent and his strong bond with the family artistic tradition.
The Cauca authorities reported that, after receiving the complaint, they activated a search device that involves the Police, the Army and regional intelligence organizations. However, for now there are no known demands from the captors nor has the authorship of the kidnapping been officially attributed to any particular armed group.
