Javier López Casarín, mayor of Álvaro Obregón, He requested a total of 4,384 million pesos for next year, an increase of 11% compared to the resources assigned this 2025, although he clarified that in reality the ideal budget for the demarcation would amount to 7,000 million pesos.
The councilor maintained that the current budget is not enough to satisfy the demands of the inhabitants of the district.
“With the budget that the mayor has currently assigned, there would be 2.50 pesos a day for each Obregonian, if I multiply this by the entire year it would be around 1,000 pesos. What does this mean? That I wouldn’t even have to buy a light for each Obregonian,” said Casarín.

The mayor proposed to the deputies that they allow the mayors to obtain more resources, for example by assigning them the collection of procedures such as updating the cadastre, the regularization of clandestine water intakes, as well as the collection of fines and referral of vehicles to corralón that are parked improperly.
Casarín maintained that with the resources his objectives are to transform the Plata Base into an Intelligence Center for security and civil protection, as well as acquire a team of drones and reinforce the security strategy with 30 vehicle license plate detection arcs, as well as acquire 1,000 video surveillance cameras since in the last administration a supplier failed to comply with the installation of 3,000 cameras of which only 10% were found operating.
