The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez, arrived last Sunday at Arequipa to meet with agricultural unions. His role was that of an interlocutor, since his portfolio does not directly resolve agrarian claims. Sánchez, one of the two ministers who survive the continuous cabinet changes, also spoke in defense of the government of peter castlewho today will face the admission of a vacancy motion in Congress.
The official pointed out that the Congress he is using his prerogatives; However, considered that Parliament is making excessive use of its powers. “There is an abuse of the use of the prerogative (…) We call for the reasonableness of the balance of powers,” said Sánchez.
The minister added that the vacancy motion responds to groups that have not recognized Pedro Castillo’s victory since July of last year.

Sánchez also referred to the writ of habeas corpus filed by the President Pedro Castillo, to annul the constitutional claim against him for treason. The lawsuit originated after Castillo’s statements on CNN, where he indicated that he could consult the people about the maritime exit from Bolivia through Peruvian territory. For the minister, the accusation “has neither head nor tail.”
The minister also mentioned the effective collaboration to which the former secretary of the Government Palace, Bruno Pacheco, will submit. This was implicated in the scandal of the discovery of 20 thousand dollars in a palace bathroom. He is also accused of being aware of alleged irregular acts in the Castillo government.
“Each person is responsible for their actions (…) This government supports all kinds of investigations,” said Sánchez.
