The administration of the “Valle Eterno” cemetery of Palián reported that all the tombs located on land, in the Santísima Trinidad sector, will be relocated to ossuaries. According to the statement, it would be due to observations issued by the Huancayo Civil Defense.
“That area is a mess, there are no entrances or exits, that’s what Civil Defense observed. So the cemetery has a period of two years to organize the space”said the administrator of the cemetery, Idania Mallma. The representative indicated that the notification was made in 2024 and that since then the relatives have been informed of the need to transfer the remains. ““They are being told to come to the office to inform them and register their deceased.”he pointed out, specifying that said registration has already reached more than one hundred people.
The new ossuaries will begin construction in April 2026 and the transfer will take place once the work is completed, indicated the administrator, who also emphasized that each deceased will be placed individually. “Whether we find a head or a leg, each one will be put in different little drawers.”he said, ruling out versions about an alleged mixture of remains.
Regarding costs, he reported that a single payment of S/ 300 will be charged for maintenance, a right that was not well received by some mourners. Regarding the final finishing of the ossuaries, he mentioned that a possible additional amount of S/.200 will still be defined, which will be submitted to consensus with the relatives of the deceased.
