Pueblorrico: authorities will relocate 25 families affected by landslide in Antioquia

After a landslide that left people dead and suffered massive damage, Pueblorrico will relocate 25 families while interventions progress.

The authorities in Pueblorrico, Antioquia, announced the relocation of 25 families after the November 11 landslide that left three dead, three injured and 90 homes affected.

The heavy rains and mass movements have generated different situations in a large part of the department of Antioquia, leaving the municipalities of Caucasia, Nechí, El Bagre, Zaragoza, Segovia, Urrao, Vigía del Fuerte, Frontino and Murindóunder red alert for floods.

Due to the emergencies that occurred in Pueblorrico, southwest Antioquia, on November 11, where a landslide left three people dead and three injured, Governor Andrés Julián Rendón toured this town to assess the damage and coordinate the institutional response.

According to the information provided by Rendón Cardona, the landslide caused structural damage to 90 homeswhich will be intervened, while 25 families will be relocated.

The local school, which presents a structural risk, was declared unsuitable, so the Authorities have ordered his transfer to a safe place.

“According to information provided by Dagran, more than 500 million pesos have already been invested there and what is coming now are the most structural solutions with the bridge that leads to the urban area towards the seven paths most important, with the attention that must be coordinated with the Ministry of the Environment for the tanks that enable the supply of public services again, especially drinking waterand with hope for the improvement of about 90 homes and the relocation of 25 families that need a new house, also the relocation of the school,” were the words of Governor Andrés Julián Rendón.

The government leader announced that new interventions will be carried out to accelerate the recovery of the municipality and guarantee safety conditions for families victims.

The authorities are also advancing actions in other municipalities that have recently been affected by the rainy season, such as Cisneros, Copacabana and Puerto Triunfo.
