For its part, Alanoca He reacted on his social networks by thanking those who supported his candidacy and stating that his defeat was due to discriminatory practices within the political alliance. “I deeply appreciate all those who supported our candidacy; the classic, racist and hateful way of doing politics prevailed. We will continue visiting Peru, practicing politics with teaching and decency to get out of the harmful commercialization of politics in the country,” he expressed through his Facebook account.

Regarding the possibility that Alanoca join the presidential team, Attention clarified that this is not viable, since the winning formula was chosen together and, according to the regulations of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), cannot be modified. In that sense, Alanoca could only run as a Senate candidate for Puno.
As detailed to this medium by participants of the Venceremos assembly, 70 delegates participated in the election of Atencio as a presidential candidate, of which 14 came from the organizations Popular Unity, Red Homeland, National Dignity and Andean Socialism. “For the moment, I will continue to command the defense of Guillermo Bermejo. Since my candidacy was only formalized yesterday, it will be necessary to evaluate internally whether I continue to be your lawyer or if we make another decision. I have known Bermejo’s process for 15 years and I am sure that I can fulfill both roles,” said the now presidential candidate to the independent media La Encerrona.
Atencio also specified that Bermejo’s process is in the appeal stage and is close to being elevated to the Supreme Court. In addition, they have requested that he be granted freedom while the process is resolved.
