
An older adult of approximately 70 years of age decompensated and fell onto the rails of the Caracas Metro during the morning of this Monday, November 17. The incident forced the activation of the transportation system’s emergency protocols.
The information was confirmed in social networks by Pablo Antonio Palacios Salazar, general commander of the Caracas Fire Department, who explained that the man had decompensated while he was on the platform of the Chacaíto station, which caused him to fall onto the rails.
Incident caused delays in the Caracas Metro
The older adult suffered a head injury and a possible hip fractureaccording to the preliminary report from the firefighters.
Members of the Caracas Fire Department, using specialized rescue techniques, managed to extract him from the road area and stabilize him in coordination with the Chacao Health team. After receiving initial care, He was transferred to the University Clinical Hospital, where he remains under medical evaluation.
The incident generated momentary delays in the Caracas Metro service while rescue maneuvers were carried out. The authorities reiterated the importance of users remaining alert on the platforms and immediately reporting any risk situation.
