Uruapan, almost in “technical bankruptcy”
The governor recognized that Uruapan faces a “delicate” situation in its finances, so it can even be considered that there is a technical bankruptcy.
“There is a delicate issue of finances in Uruapan, there is practically a technical bankruptcy, but other municipalities also have a lack of liquidity, several municipalities have even requested support through advances of federal participation, and others are managing short-term credits,” he explained.
A few days ago the president reported that members of his government were in contact with the municipal administration to support him in the economic situation he faces.
“The Uruapan city council has serious financial difficulties, we are also going to work. Luis Navarro, Secretary of Finance, is working with the municipality’s treasurer,” he indicated on November 10.
After the murder of Carlos Manzo, his wife Grecia Quiroz was appointed as the mayor of Uruapan. In a meeting she held with President Claudia Sheinbaum, the federal president offered her support.
“We also talked going forward, she is going to be the municipal president of Uruapan. Today she will take office in the state Congress and we agreed to continue in communication to support the municipality of Uruapan in this general framework of the Michoacán Plan for peace and justice,” Sheinbaum reported. on November 5.
