Salary indexation
Regarding salary indexation, Medina pointed out that it should have been included in the General Budget of the Nation and recalled that this right is established in the 1992 Tax Code. He added: “I worked on that myself; I was a deputy at that time. The PLD made it possible for these reforms, together with the reformists, to pass, because the PRD at that time did not support them.”.
In his speech to close the assembly, Medina stated that the country faces serious problems and mentioned limitations in housing, health, SMEs, employment and difficulties for rice, banana and pork producers.
Before Medina, Johnny Pujols valued the concentration of the PLD in the National District as a sign of strength. He affirmed that the country faces setbacks under the PRM government and expressed: “With the PRM, health is NOT better, nor does 911 work better, nor are there fewer blackouts, nor is food cheaper”.
Pujols called on the members and militants of the party to convey the message: “We are going to tell the people that the PLD is back to give them back food, jobs and health. To give them back the dreams that have been taken from them.”
The three vice presidents of the PLD, Temístocles Montás, Zoraima Cuello and Yván Lorenzo, attended the activity; former vice presidents Jaime David Fernández Mirabal and Margarita Cedeño; members of the Political Committee, party liaisons, presidents of constituencies, councilors and other leaders.
