Conatra sees the appointment of the new director of Opret as positive; ensures measure seeks to organize transportation

Santo Domingo.- He president of the National Confederation of Transportation Organizations (Conatra) Antonio Martecongratulated today the President Luis Abinader for himThe appointment of Jhael Isa Tavárez as the new executive director of the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET), designation that he said seeks to reorganize the institutions linked to the Integrated Transportation System (SID).

He pointed out that with the appointment of Isa Tavárez announced this morning, through Decree number 652-25, issued by the Executive Branch, the aim is to prioritize the effectiveness of the service and the efficiency in the management of resources for its provision, ensuring that the different public entities involved work in a coordinated, timely and transparent manner.

For the transportation leader, with this designation, “Finally, an opportunity opens up to reorganize and optimize the Integrated Transportation System to improve the planning, operation and sustainability of mass public transportation throughout the country.”

Marte, president of Conatra, assured that the executive director of OPRET, Jhael Isa Tavárez, a graduate of INTEC, has extensive experience and highlighted that he is a conciliator who also enjoys the consideration of other institutions that have to do with the implementation of mass public transportation projects.

“Our sector will be attentive and waiting to present proposals to continue with the modernization of mass transportation, such as corridors, subways and cable cars,” said Marte, while reiterating his commitment to working together with the Government to find solutions that benefit the transportation sector and the population in general. “and thus we will surpass goals that the government has on its agenda to develop them as soon as possible.”
