For 10 days, the family of Félix Santos Choque Flores (51) lived moments of anguish as they did not know anything about the Autodema worker. This mortifying feeling ended on Saturday afternoon, after Choque Flores’ body was located inside the Aguada Blanca dam, as was suspected since his disappearance was reported on November 5.
Just one day before, Félix Choque’s family went to the “Angel of the Disappeared”, Eloy Cacyato participate in the search, so around 1:45 p.m. on November 15, the angel did what seemed impossible for 10 days, providing a little calm to a family that just wanted to recover the body of a loved one.
According to the head of the Arequipa Police Region, General Olger Benavides, the The discovery was made near a boat attached to the wall of the daman area through which a search was carried out days before with police presence.
“From the clothing that can be seen, it is the clothing that corresponds to an Autodema worker, we can confirm that the family indicates that it is also the same person, but we have to wait for both the Dircri who is going up to the place to make full identification”he noted a few minutes after being informed about the incident.
INVESTIGATION
After confirming the finding by the Criminalistics and Homicide Department of the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri), the scene was established, together with the Public Ministry, for the first steps.
The causes of death will be known after the respective autopsy in the Arequipa morgueso there is still no clear hypothesis about what happened at the time of his disappearance.
Regarding the vest found on the shore of the dam, the police authority stated that it is part of the investigation to determine how it got to the place, “It is one of the investigations that we continue to do to see if that garment really belongs to him or if not, how was it left on the shore? If it fell or is in the dam, how is the garment on the shore?”he noted.
Benavides pointed out that the body could have been submerged for the first few days until it finally surfaced this Saturday.
DIFFICULTY
During these days, divers from the Ilo Army had to be used. Unfortunately, since the dam was too deep, this caused health problems, so they had to withdraw.
“They stopped searching because they suffered health problems in the sense that, in that dam, when they pass more than 10 meters they begin to have health problems. They were evacuated even at 2 in the morning”said Benavides about the work carried out these days.
Given this situation, the participation of two specialized diving teams had been coordinated with the Peruvian Navy.

In the afternoon, Autodema made a statement confirming the identity of the body, in addition to supporting the transfer of the National Police and the team of specialized experts to carry out the procedures in accordance with the law.
Likewise, Choque Flores’ family was contacted expressing his heartfelt condolences and commitment to providing the necessary support.
FAMILY COMPLAINT
It was the wife of Félix Choque who reported the disappearance at the Yanahuara police stationfrom that day on they demanded that the authorities look for the Autodema worker.
