Dominican organizations denounce US military agenda and call to defend peace

Throughout the day, representatives of social, political and cultural organizations distributed flyers in which they expressed their rejection of the United States naval deployment in Caribbean waters and the actions against Venezuela and Colombia.

They pointed out that the Southern Command offensive “It is not against drugs, but for the control of the wealth of Venezuela and other resources of our people.“. They also accused the Dominican Government of “betray national sovereignty” by supporting US interventionist policy.

Likewise, Jesús Adón, from the Popular Block, called on progressive organizations in Latin America to “close ranks in defense of peace and against the military presence of the United States”, insisting that “Peoples are sovereign and have the right to self-determination”.

Finally, Maribel Núñez, from Agenda Solidaridad, asked to maintain the mobilization throughout the week and beyond.
