Holy SUNDAY.- Political organizations and social They started this Saturday International Week “No to the War against Venezuela“, with the Pplowing No to the war made from the emblematic Parque Independencia. From different parts of the continent, groups from the United States, the Dominican Republic and other countries joined in the same cry: No to the war against Venezuela and respect for the sovereignty of the people!
Throughout the day, representatives of social, political and cultural organizations distributed flyers in which they expressed their rejection of the United States naval deployment in Caribbean waters and the actions against Venezuela and Colombia.

They pointed out that the Southern Command offensive “It is not against drugs, but for the control of the wealth of Venezuela and other resources of our people.“. They also accused the Dominican Government of “betray national sovereignty” by supporting US interventionist policy.
The manifesto that called for the mobilization was delivered to passers-by and drivers in the surroundings of the historic park where the remains of the Fathers of the Nation rest. From that stage full of symbolism, which includes the honoring of Juan Pablo Duarte, also a son of Venezuela, the participants demanded the withdrawal of the United States Navy from the waters of the Caribbean.

During the stop, multiple interventions were carried out. Professor Luis de León, of the Boschist Force, called for continental unity: “We call on the world to stand up with flags in their hands and ask: out with the Yankees from the Caribbean and Latin America. We ask for peace, peace, peace”.

From the United Left Movement, Martha Pérez highlighted that several social, political and cultural forces came together “to demand the cessation of warlike hostilities in the Caribbean.” He recalled that CELAC declared the region a zone of peace in 2014. “Venezuela is hope and deserves to live in peace”, he stated.
Likewise, Jesús Adón, from the Popular Block, called on progressive organizations in Latin America to “close ranks in defense of peace and against the military presence of the United States”, insisting that “Peoples are sovereign and have the right to self-determination”.
Finally, Maribel Núñez, from Agenda Solidaridad, asked to maintain the mobilization throughout the week and beyond. He announced additional activities, such as the delivery of a document to the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday the 19th and a day for peace on Saturday the 22nd.Venezuela and the Caribbean demand mobilization to prevent the gringos from taking over our resources or breaking the peace”, he expressed.
