The General Meeting of Shareholders of PetroPerú finally agreed to the complete renewal of the board of directors of the state oil company this Saturday, November 15.
Prior to the new appointments, Minister Denisse Miralles confirmed that they were looking for “a multidisciplinary team with experience not only in the sector, in oil company management, but also in business management efficiency and financial issues.” Here is the new PetroPerú directory:

The Minister of Economy, Denisse Mirallesannounced that the General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) of PetroPeru decided to completely renew the board of directors of the state company, as part of a strategy to organize its finances and ensure sustainable management.
As specified, all members presented their letter of resignation, except for the representative elected by the workers.
“What the JGA has done is request the resignation of all the members of the board. This Saturday we will be appointing a comprehensive board. The representative of the workers continues because he is elected by them,” declared the minister on Canal N.
Miralles pointed out that the recomposition seeks to implement a modern administration, with financial discipline, transparency and concrete results.
“We firmly believe that PetroPerú is a strategic asset of the State that must stop generating costs. It must produce income and operate with business efficiency,” he stated.
The head of the MEF specified that the company is not “headless,” since the second vice presidency temporarily assumed management until the new appointments are made official.
Who will make up the new board?
Miralles announced that the next members will form a “multidisciplinary” team, with experience in business management, financial management and knowledge of the hydrocarbon sector. He also announced the incorporation of a private manager.
“We require not only creativity, but mastery of modern tools that work in other countries. The new board must develop a quick plan that ensures that there will be no new demands for State resources,” he explained.
This plan will include the evaluation of PetroPerú’s strategic lines that may be concessioned or valued under mechanisms such as asset projects.
On October 16, the JGA removed Alejandro Narváez from the presidency of the board and appointed Fidel Augusto Moreno Rodríguez as his replacement.
Narváez, in an interview with RPP, then stated that he could not find “any objective explanation” for his departure and described the decision as “hasty.”
