“As a bench we have not touched the subject yet. I personally believe that there would be no reason to deny the president the possibility of approaching the plenary session. Some say that it interferes with the vacancy process, I don’t see how that can happen, I believe that all the benches have already decided on their position regarding the vacancy motion”, he added.
“I think we should condition the president, to give a message to Congress this has to be a clear message. At least he has to tell us what he wants to go for.”he stated.
President requested to appear before Congress
The head of state asked the Board of Directors of Congress last Saturday to show “openness” and accept the request of the Executive to come and deliver a message to the plenary session one day after it is evaluated whether or not the motion of vacancy against you.
“Making use of my constitutional right, I will attend Congress to give a message. I await the opening of the Board of Directors of Parliament to be present on Tuesday, March 15”, he wrote on Twitter.
The president shared in his publication the letter sent by the Prime Minister, Aníbal Torres, to the President of Congress, María del Carmen Alva, on Friday afternoon.
