Delia Espinoza hopes to rejoin today as the nation's prosecutor

The suspended fiscal of the nation, Delia Espinozaquestioned that the acting national prosecutor, Tomás Gálvez, had ordered the closure of offices on the 9th floor of the Public Ministryas well as arranging remote work in the Area of Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints.

Espinoza assured that he will not enter the tax headquarters “pushing the door,” in reference to his predecessor, Supreme Prosecutor Patricia Benavides.

“I will never do that, because I respect the headquarters, I respect the workers and the population. I am a lady and I will never lead to embarrassing or unnecessary acts of violence. All procedures must follow the appropriate channel and with the corresponding forms,” she said on RPP.

The prosecutor said she was hopeful that this Friday “this situation will be corrected” and she will be allowed to enter the headquarters of the Public Ministry. In that sense, he pointed out that “the idea is to comply with the formal deadline” established by the Judiciary.

As recalled, Judge Juan Torres Tasso ordered on November 10 that Espinoza be reinstated within 48 hours. However, the National Board of Justice (JNJ), as well as the nation’s prosecutor, have refused to comply with the ruling.

“The Lord [Gálvez] You should review a little more about constitutional procedures. You are making a mistake, since we are in a protection process with a precautionary measure granted. And the person who has the authority and coercive powers is the jurisdictional body, that is, the judge,” he said.

Espinoza highlighted that the JNJ continues to notify him about an administrative process that was suspended by order of the Judicial Branch.

“The JNJ seems to want to delay this situation, which constitutes clear contempt. In addition, it continues to notify me about this administrative procedure that the judge has ordered to suspend,” he said.

“The National Board of Justice already accumulates misdemeanors and crimes, and in due course it will have to respond to the population. The Judiciary is giving it one last opportunity to comply with the resolution and not continue to incur disobedience and resistance to authority. If it does not do so until tomorrow, it will be committing a continued crime,” he stated.
