After 10 days of intense search, the remains of Félix Santos Choque Flores (51) were found floating inside the Aguada Blanca dam, near its wall, according to the National Police, after confirming the discovery.
It was approximately 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, when the team made up of Eloy Cacya and Alta Montaña of the National Police spotted a floating body, proceeding to descend to the area, to confirm that it was the body of a man.
The head of the Arequipa Police Region, General Olguer Benavides, indicated that criminalistics experts from the Criminal Investigation Division, as well as from the Public Ministry, left for the first proceedings, which will conclude in the city of Arequipa when the body is admitted to the morgue.
“From the clothing that can be seen, it is the clothing that corresponds to an Autodema worker, we can confirm that the family indicates that it is also the same person, but we have to wait for both the Dircri who is going up to the place to make full identification”he pointed out.
Regarding the circumstances in which the body was found, the police authority stated that it was near a boat stuck towards the wall of the damwhere the place was inspected days ago, not ruling out that the body had been sunken until it was refloated, taking into account that the height of the dam is 27 meters deep.
In these search efforts participated personnel of the High Mountain Rescue Division, Peruvian Army and it was expected that in the coming days a specialized Navy diving team would join.
