Monsignor Nouel. – He National Health Service (SNS) delivered this Saturday the renovation of the Piedra Blanca Municipal Hospital with which around 26,000 inhabitants of the demarcation will benefit, during an event led by the vice president of the Republic, Raquel Pena.
In a press release, the entity indicated that the work represented a total investment of RD$45,004,572.09of which RD$21,082,438.85 were allocated to equipment and RD$23,922,133.24 to the infrastructure adaptation.
He also pointed out that the renovation of this health center is a “sample of the government’s commitment, under the leadership of President Luis Abinader, to human dignity and the well-being of each family.”
The executive director of the SNS, Dr. Mario Lama, highlighted that the project responds to needs identified in the municipality and is part of the plan to strengthen the centers that make up the public network.
“We are approaching the 90 hospitals intervened throughout the national territorywith works that have made it possible to equip, remodel and transform the public network to provide more efficient responses to the population,” said Dr. Lama.
“This hospital, with more than 30 years of constructionwas completely renovated: today it has modern operating roompre- and post-surgical areas, delivery roomequipped laboratory and sterilization spaces, everything necessary so that the inhabitants of Piedra Blanca receive the care they deserve,” he added.
The center now has gynecological officesdental and multipurpose, in addition to vaccination arealaboratory, sonography, X-ray and sampling.
Likewise, it has internment beds and a delivery room. The SNS indicated that now its emergency integrate waiting roomtriage, observation bedsresuscitation box and nursing station.
He also stressed that a neonatal area with three cribs and an incubator, an operating room, sterilization room, pharmacy, rest, preparation and recovery areas, with nursing stations distributed in the different spaces.
With this delivery, the SNS reported that it maintains its focus on expand installed capacityadapt the infrastructure of health centers and optimize the services that users receive in each community.
