The departmental prosecutor of Tarija, Sandra Gutiérrez, announced yesterday that this department officially initiated a criminal investigation for an alleged carnival party at the regional offices of the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA).

In the last few hours, images of an alleged party of comadres in the INRA Tarijeño facilities have circulated on social networks.

“We have initiated the investigation ex officio and the witness statements will be taken,” said Gutiérrez. The investigation will be for the crime of use of State assets.

Gutiérrez admitted that he still does not have the names of which officials will be summoned, however, at least two authorities participating in the celebration were identified on social networks, in which the consumption of alcoholic beverages in those state offices is evident.

“Once these statements are taken, we will proceed as established by law, we do not rule out absolutely anything, but we do not want to give more details so as not to hinder the investigation,” the departmental prosecutor added yesterday in Tarija.
