Outrageous. The district mayor of Juan Guerra, José Lazo Arce, was caught violently beating his 22-year-old partner inside his home, in Saint Martin.
In the recording, broadcast on social networks, the young woman is heard desperately begging him to stop, while he continues to attack her without showing any type of brake.
In the images, the mayor grabs her by the hair, drags her across the room and throws her on the bed, ignoring the victim’s pleas.
After what happened, the young woman went to the La Banda de Shilcayo police station to formalize her complaint. According to his story, the episodes of violence had become frequent for months.
“Not at first, but then yes. He attacked me psychologically and physically. I wanted to leave, but he cried, asked for forgiveness, told me he loved me… and came back,” he declared.
In addition, she revealed that she is pregnant and that, when she told Lazo Arce the news, he responded that he would not take responsibility.
“My mother tried to talk to him, ask him to take charge, but he said no,” he said.
After the dissemination of the material, the councilors of the District Municipality of Juan Guerra published a statement rejecting the acts of violence and announcing that an extraordinary session will be called to evaluate actions against the mayor.
