The Pentagon announced this Friday that US forces carried out a “lethal kinetic attack” against another vessel in the Caribbean on November 10.
“Under the orders of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a lethal kinetic attack against a ship operated by a terrorist organization,” reads the statement attached to the video.
Based on intelligence information and without showing evidence, they stated that the ship was involved in “illicit narcotics trafficking” and that it was transporting drug shipments while traveling along one of the best-known smuggling routes in the region.
They also indicated that the attack took place in international waters of the Caribbean Sea and confirmed that four men were on board, whom they identified as “narcoterrorists” and died during the operation.
This Monday, Hegseth reported on two other attacks carried out on November 9 that, together with this one, add to the series of attacks carried out by the US in recent months against small boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific as part of an alleged campaign against drug trafficking.
These operations have been described as “extrajudicial executions” by various human rights organizations and experts in international law, as they were carried out without trials, without judicial supervision and outside any mandate of the United Nations (UN).
