“Oral saxophone, date with the writer”, show is presented at Mercado Don Francisco
The Alliance Française de Melo plans to develop an intense agenda of activities for the remainder of 2025.
A film festival, a piano concert, a lyrical gala and the presentation of a new show that combines Literature with Music are the highlights.
“We have a quite important Cultural Agenda for the rest of the year. November and December are full of activities. The most immediate will be next Saturday, November 15 (tomorrow). It is a show that will take place in Mercado Don Francisco, former Municipal Market” Ángel Orga advanced.
“This is a second progress of work so that the public and citizens can see first-hand how the renovation and enhancement of this building, which is national historical heritage, is evolving.” expanded the Cultural Manager of the French Alliance of Melo.
“The show consists of the presentation of Gustavo Espinosa” advertisement. “Gustavo Espinosa, apart from being one of the most important writers of this quarter of a century in our country, is an excellent musician. He is going to perform here with his band, the show is called Saxo Oral, Appointment with the Writer. He combines music – blues, yaz and rock and roll – with texts by the writer. It is a very interesting proposal, it is a multidisciplinary show that was opening the Montevideo Book Fair recently” he remembered.
“It is a first-class event like all the ones we try to carry out with the Alliance Française. It is the first time it is presented in Melo. We have great expectations of the attendance, we know that our shows attract people and the tickets sell out” he stated.
Orga invited those interested in attending to purchase seats well in advance because there are few places left. They can go to the Alliance Française between 8 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon or to the parking lot of the Don Francisco Market itself. “They cost $500 with the advantage that we do not charge for the tables. They will be available and can be occupied on a first-come, first-served basis.”
The doors will open at 8:30 p.m. so that the show, which lasts about 90 minutes, begins at 9 p.m. “It is a family proposal, all our activities start early in order to attract the family, they are shows authorized by INAU and have all the other permits,” he assured.
“Saxo Oral, appointment with Gustavo Espinosa will be this Saturday, everyone is invited, don’t miss it because it is worth it” he pointed out.
NICO FARIÑA SAMPLE
“In this process of refounding the French Alliance that we have been carrying out for a couple of years now, we are exhibiting a series of works, pieces, by the Melense sculptor Nico Fariña” told the Cultural Gesture of the Alliance.
“It is an exceptional work. This exhibition will be on display until the end of November, it is freely accessible between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those who attend will also be able to appreciate how beautiful the space of the French Alliance Cultural House is looking.” Ángel Orga finished saying.
