The former president’s lawyer Pedro CastilloRicardo Hernández Medina, starred in an unusual moment in the audience when he resorted to the famous and confusing anecdote of the “boy and the chicken”, popularized by the same Castillo during his mandate and that generated laughter and memes due to its lack of clarity.
Using the peculiar story as a metaphor, Hernández Medina addressed the judicial authorities with a forceful phrase: “You have the chicken in your hands. Either you deliver it alive or you deliver it dead. You either acquit it or condemn it”.

After the controversial reference, the lawyer reaffirmed his defense of his client, maintaining that the Prosecutor’s Office failed to prove the alleged rebellion that Castillo Terrones is accused of, since, as he argued, “there was never an uprising in arms”.
The defender’s intervention, by bringing up a viral and laughable episode of the former president, adds a picturesque element to a case of high political and judicial significance, which has already gone viral on social networks.
