The Federal Police (PF) arrested, this Thursday morning (13), the former president of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) Alessandro Stefanutto. The arrest took place in a new phase of Operation Without Discount, launched in conjunction with the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU).
Stefanutto was dismissed from office in Aprilshortly after Operation Without Discount revealed fraud against retirees and pensioners.
The operation investigates a national scheme of unauthorized associative discounts on INSS retirements and pensions.
Federal police officers and CGU auditors carry out 63 search and seizure warrants, 10 preventive arrest warrants and other precautionary measures other than prison in 15 units of the federation.
Greetings reach the states of Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Paraná, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Sergipe, Tocantins and the Federal District.
“The crimes of entering false data into official systems, setting up a criminal organization, social security fraud, active and passive corruption, as well as acts of concealment and property dilapidation are being investigated,” the Federal Police said.
