Huancayo: a man who brutally attacked his partner is sentenced

A subject identified as Jimmy Omar Pillco Cueva (44) was sentenced to one year and seven months in prison after being found guilty of violently attacking his 24-year-old partner, in an event that occurred on May 24, 2024 in the center of Huancayo.

According to the investigation of the Second Office of the Second Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Violence against Women and Members of the Family Group, Pillco attacked the young woman out of jealousy, hitting her in the face with slaps and punches until she was unconscious, in addition to insulting her and threatening to kill her. The incident occurred in the room they shared, after consuming alcoholic beverages.

Provincial prosecutor Andreey Ortega Vásquez presented evidence that confirmed the physical assault and demonstrated the criminal responsibility of the accused. After the hearing, the First Unipersonal Criminal Court Subspecialized in Family Violence of Huancayo handed down the effective prison sentence.

It should be noted that Pillco Cueva had already been under preventive detention since July 2024, after being detained in flagrante delicto by members of the Huancayo Family Police Station, following a complaint filed by the victim.
