Edgar Salas detenido Vente Venezuela

Vente Venezuela denounced that Edgar Salas, coordinator of the organization in the state of Lara, is in forced disappearance. They demanded information from the authorities and their immediate release.

Edgar Salas Pinilla, coordinator of Vente Venezuela in the Concepción parish, Iribarren municipality, Lara state, was arbitrarily detained by officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) on November 7.

The political organization denounced through the count in X of the Human Rights Committee that days before the residence of his ex-wife and his son was raided without a court order. «“They tried to plant false evidence, threatened their family and subjected them to constant siege,” the relatives said.

Vente Venezuela stated that Salas Pinilla is under forced disappearance, since the whereabouts and current health situation of the prisoner are unknown.

The political organization, founded by María Corina Machado, demanded information about Edgar Salas and his immediate freedom.

After Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and after the deployment by the United States to the Caribbean, the siege, persecution and arrests against militants of this organization have increased. Last October alone, Vente Venezuela counted 54 new political prisoners, mostly from this organization.
