“Gentlemen of the UN, here there are no tensions between Venezuela and the United States, here what there is is an aggression by the United States (US) against Venezuela. Things must be called by their name: an aggression. The aggression has nothing to do with drugs, it has to do with taking over Venezuela’s resources,” said the general secretary of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello.
During his program Con el Mazo Dando, Cabello questioned the approach of multilateral organizations that insist on classifying as “tension” what he considers a direct offensive against Venezuelan sovereignty. “What they want is to take over Venezuela’s resources. They begin to talk about a supposed tension, waiting for Venezuela to say yes. Well, no. What we have here is aggression,” reported the State channel.
He also made reference to recent statements by European governments, pointing out that France has accused the United States of violating international law in the Caribbean, which he classifies as a relevant fact. “We have to pay attention, because France says so, and it has accompanied the United States in thousands of crazy things.”
At the same time, he added that the European Union criticizes the US military deployment in both the Caribbean and the Pacific. “They are doing the same thing to the boats in the Caribbean as to those in the Pacific. Without identifying anyone, they throw bombs at them. Then, instead of judging them, they send them to Ecuador to continue trafficking drugs. They had served time in the United States for drug trafficking, but this way they let them go free,” he denounced.
Therefore, he reiterated that the aggression against Venezuela does not respond to security issues or “combat drug trafficking,” but rather to interest in its natural wealth. “The country will not give in to any empire, and I tell you that the truth must be exposed to the international community without hesitation, because the people of Venezuela are sovereign and will always be free.”
