The Social Development Manager of the Provincial Municipality of Tarma, Percy Gallardo Arias, reported that two soup kitchens within the city of Tarma have chosen to close.
This decision is made by the women associates who managed these spaces.
These are the popular dining room in the Hualhuas neighborhood and the Santa Teresita dining room, located on Pacheco Avenue.
“The Hualhuas dining room closes after serving approximately ten years”said the official, adding that with these closures the municipality will only serve 18 dining rooms.
Other requirements
The food rations that were destined for these canteens will be stored in the municipality’s warehouses to be able to meet the requirements of the other canteens, especially starting next year.
In both cases, the decision to close the dining rooms has been the exclusive decision of the members who made up these units.
Gallardo Arias clarified that the municipality is not responsible for the direct administration of these canteens.
It was also reported that there are two or three requests from other sectors to open this type of social support establishments, but they will have to adapt to the requirements demanded by the Central Government because there are always requirements and conditions that must be met.
