The crash of a small plane in Vaupés leaves the Registry in mourning and leaves four fatalities.
A small plane covering the Yavarate–Mitú route crashed in the jungle area of Vaupés. Three Registry officials and the pilot died in the accident, the causes of which are being investigated.
The accident of the small plane with registration number HK 641which occurred when covering the Yavarate – Papunahua – Bocoa – Mitú route, has the department of Vaupés in mourning. On the aircraft, belonging to Nativa Air, three officials from the National Registry of Civil Status were traveling and the pilot Carlos Felipe Ramírez, who died after the accident.
In Mitú, sadness is felt in every corner. The deceased were José Misael Silva Bernal, president of the Civil Defense in the capital of Vaupés; Gabriel Gómez Sánchez, son of the rector of the San Javier inspection public school; and Nadia Valentina Valencia López, a happy and hard-working young womanremembered by her neighbors for her commitment and closeness to the community.

The authorities confirmed that The plane was found completely incinerated in a jungle area that was difficult to access. The Secretary of Government of Vaupés, Tatiana Morales González, explained that the emergency protocols of the Departmental Risk Management Council were immediately activated, with support from the Colombian Air Force, Civil Defense and Civil Aeronautics.
An Air Force aircraft traveled to the site of the accident to support the search and rescue efforts, while the National Registry Office lamented the tragedy and praised the work of its officials, who were fulfilling an institutional mission in rural areas of the department.
“We regret the accident of the Nativa Air light aircraft HK 641. Our officials from the Vaupés Departmental Delegation were traveling in it, who They carried out their work during the citizen registration day“said the entity in a statement.
The causes of the accident are still a matter of investigation, while in Mitú the three affected families—and a large part of the community—say goodbye to their loved ones among tributes and messages of gratitude for their service.
