The Coalition of Operational Workers of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) and Deconcentrated Bodies COTRA HOD called for a nationwide work stoppage. Among the main reasons, demanding the official recognition of this organization stood out.
“This measure is carried out in response to the persistent omission of the authority to establish definitive commitments on our labor rights,” highlighted the COTRA HOD.
On October 14, SAT workers carried out a nationwide sit-down strike in protest of detrimental working conditions, working days of more than 14 hours, without overtime pay, and deficiencies in infrastructure and work equipment.
In addition, they released a request list of eight points that have not been addressed, according to this labor organization.
Among the workers’ demands are a salary increase, review and adjustments to work schedules, including the payment of overtime; the return of individualized separation insurance and major medical expenses insurance that were eliminated in 2018, the lack of the former prevents workers from receiving a settlement if they resign.
The Coalition reported peaceful demonstrations this November 11 in offices in Mexico City, Baja California, Querétaro; Guanajuato, Jalisco.
In the afternoon, the SAT highlighted that due to the demonstrations, only three offices remain temporarily closed, which are:
- Federal District 3, located at Viaducto Río de la Piedad 507, CDMX.
- Querétaro 1, located at Ignacio Allende 8, Querétaro.
- Guadalajara Sur, located at Lázaro Cárdenas 2305, Guadalajara.
It informed taxpayers with appointments scheduled at these offices to go to any other SAT office or module and receive the service by presenting their proof of appointment.
