The court of the 1st Criminal Court of the Capital decided that the influencer Vitor Belarmino, accused of running over and causing the death of physiotherapist Fábio Toshiro Kikuda, in July 2024, will be submitted to a popular jury. The sentence was handed down by judge Alessandra Roidis, who considered that there was evidence for the case to be analyzed by the Jury Court.
“I consider the state’s punitive claim to be admissible and pronounce Vítor Vieira Belarmino to be subject to the penalties of articles 121, caput, of the Penal Code, 304 and 305 of the Brazilian Traffic Code, so that he can be brought to trial before the Jury Court,” considered the judge.
According to the Public Ministry’s complaint, on July 13, 2024, at around 11:30 pm, Fábio and Bruna, who had just gotten married, were crossing Avenida Lúcio Costa, at number 17.360, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, when they were surprised by the BMW driven by Vitor, which was traveling at high speed. The vehicle hit Fábio, who succumbed to his injuries and died instantly.
The couple had gotten married this Saturday, July 13th and were going to spend their honeymoon, in a hotel on the edge of Recreio, where they were already staying. After putting their bags in their room, they decided to go to the beach and watch the sea, when they were hit by Vitor Belarmino’s car, who was driving at high speed, According to technical expertise, he was accompanied by five women. “Therefore, once materiality has been proven and authorship has been indicted, the accused must be taken to the plenary session so that natural judges can analyze the defensive thesis and decide. When appearing in court, 10 months after being on the run, Vitor responded that only now was the press publishing information about the incident that he considers “true”.
